How do you rip the subtitles from a DVD?
How often have you got a movie with subtitles, and have been disappointed as they aren't what you wanted? The solution is to edit them yourself and write what you want, but this means you have to remove them first. How? Simply: just use this free Subrip.
Subrip is a simple application that helps you rip the subtitles from a DVD, letting you save them in a plain text file. This way you can edit and translate them as you like. Subrip also lets you save the subtitles as an image file (in BMP format) which you can later insert into an SVCD disc, to be able to view them in a conventional player.
As an additional advantage, you should know that Subrip is in over 20 languages, for example English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, etc.
